This is my first gaming Monitor and it’s a 10/10
Bought this for ps5 gaming. Works amazing , color is good, responsive and overall a great gaming monitor for consoles.
After using this monitor for a couple of weeks I feel it is a pretty decent monitor with good specifications, features and resolution. Contrast was great and colors are bright, sharp and accurate with good deep blacks and the fast refresh and response time reduced motion blur and gave a good clean feel to the action on the screen whether playing games, watching video, using a spreadsheet or just browsing the net.I like:The 27” screen gives you a nice comfortable viewing experience.Dual HDMI and display port.VESA mountable for those who need it.The LED Rainbow light on the back is neat.I have not needed it, but the warranty looks good.I did not like:The built-in speakers did not impress me, very tinny soundThe stand and monitor are fairly stable as long as you don’t get too wild. Unfortunately it is also very basic with no way to adjust the height or pivot from side to side, fortunately for me at least it tilts.
This is a really crowded space for monitors and you need a pretty big grid that showcases the features and capabilities of the monitors in this space to find the exact spot your looking for.For simplicity's sake I will define this monitor as a 27" 165Hz 2K 98% RGB LED Flat IPS monitor with basic (tilt only) stand. I think those attributes will allow this to be compared fairly in this arena.First things I noticed when evaluating this monitor is that the color is actually pretty amazing out of the box without adjusting anything. Same goes for the brightness. Contrast is also really good with default settings. I do not see any factory calibration sheet in here to certify it but someone for sure spent some time tweaking the default settings for this panel.I think that 27" is a great sweet spot for a 2K resolution monitor. Everything is crisp at native resolution from a reasonable "desk" length distance from the monitor. If your a coder that prefers single monitor setups then this is a great option to go with, and IPS is the LCD tech of choice. for that.Watching movies on this screen is a great experience with silky blacks and impressively accurate color. Also working and general use is an above average experience. But lets be honest here. This literally has gaming written on the front of it, so lets talk about it. AMD free sync is supported which is always welcome but I cannot get my card to go above 144hz, which I am sure is more a limitation of my card vs the monitor. I have other high refresh rate monitors (most notably a HP Omen) and I honestly cannot see much of a difference after about 90hz. The screen works great at 144hz, but for me (who is not a competitive fps) who mostly games on RTS's that are hard pressed to do anything to take advantage of a higher refresh, I notice it more on mundane things, like moving windows around on the desktop. You sort of get used to it and really only notice it when you go back to something like your laptop that is fixed at 60hz.For gaming, this is a great monitor. The only reason I am knocking a point from this monitor is the super basic stand. This is a very, very crowded space in monitors and this is riding sort of up there in cost vs the competitors so I would have expected a fully adjustable and articulating stand (tilt, pivot, height adjust) but you get this really basic fixed stand, that thankfully does tilt but that is it.Other notable features are the LED's on the back panel. You cannot control them from software, you can only set the mode via the OSD on the monitor. It has a few different modes but nothing to allow them to be used as reactive color like you can get on the HP Omen series monitors (or have hardware support for Ambilight like active mode). You get a DP cable in the package, other than that is is pretty easy to setup though you will need a screwdriver to assemble the stand with three screws.
Son loves it! Used for gaming. Excellent picture
